KNIPEX Comfort Handles with KNIPEXtend

When will the new Comfort Handles be available?
The new handles will be available from mid-June, but not all products will be switched over immediately. It is therefore quite possible that pliers with the familiar red and blue handles will initially still be available in stores. It is best to ask retailers specifically about the products you are interested in. The retailer will be able to provide you with information.

Will the Comfort Handles have an impact on pricing?
No, they will not for the time being.

Which products will be equipped with the new Comfort Handles?
All products that previously had our familiar red and blue two-component handles will gradually be upgraded to the new three-component handles. Only our electronic pliers are not affected.

What is KNIPEXtend?
KNIPEXtend is the interface at the tip of the handles. It was specially developed for attaching extensions and thus adapting the pliers to your own needs and requirements or customising them. We currently offer special KNIPEX ColorCode clips, which you can use to colour-code your pliers, and KNIPEX TetheredTool clips, which you can use to easily upgrade your pliers to tools with fall protection.

Will there be more KNIPEXtend extensions?
We have lots of ideas - you'll be surprised what else might come in the future. Until then, you can also develop and implement your own ideas. We provide you with the data for the interface here. You can use it to create your own 3D-printed extensions.

Are the clips just as break-proof and stable as the pliers handles?
They are as strong as they need to be. The handles themselves naturally have to fulfil much higher requirements than the clips. However, there are also differences in the clips. The TetheredTools clip in particular has to fulfil very high requirements. After all, it has to reliably prevent the fall of a pair of pliers in combination with the safety line - and it does.

What are the different components of the handle cover used for?
Each of the three components has its own function. The new grey component is soft and has a special surface structure that improves grip and control. The familiar blue component is also soft and ensures a secure, comfortable grip and thus protects your hand. The familiar red component is somewhat harder. Its task is to give the handles a high level of strength and thus ensure maximum durability. You will also find a slightly recessed labelling field and the KNIPEXtend interface on the inside.

Will the red/yellow VDE-tested handles now also be converted?
Our aim is to convert all red-blue two-component handles first before we embark on the next major handle project. But stay tuned and keep an eye on our channels.
